Sorbitol dehydrogenase - SDH

Sorbitol dehydrogenase - SDH  Sorbitol dehydrogenase -SDH is found in highest concentration in the liver .It is a cytoplasmic enzyme with a short - half life (12 - 24 hours ) . It is a very specific indicator of liver disease .Increases occure within 24 hours of liver injury .  SDH is not a stable enzyme . Serum samples are only stable for 5 hours at room temperature , 24 hours at 4 C and several days frozen .
